Bulk shipping company BW Bulk Ltd has been renamed Berge Bulk Ltd, with effect from 1 September. The new identity has been chosen to reflect the strong heritage, customer recognition and advantageous market presence of the company. As part of the plan to create a more distinctive and progressive bulk shipping company, a decision was made to differentiate the bulk operations with a separate brand.

Berge Bulk CEO James Marshall says: “This delivers a strong message underlining our long-term ambitions to build a leading, independent and specialised company in the large bulk carrier sector.”

Essentially, the organisation and operating structures remain unchanged. Fleet support, such as technical management and manning, continues to be delivered through BW Fleet Management in Singapore, while Berge Bulk’s chartering and operations will continue from Oslo. Company corporate and financing matters will be handled from the new Berge Bulk Singapore office. Ship livery will not substantially alter but the BW insignia will be replaced by Berge Bulk markings, starting with a new funnel mark.

Marshall adds: “The new branding reflects the long history of the company and our move into a dynamic future. We thank customers for their continued support and look forward to growing with them in the future.”
